Community Updates n. 3


1. the sally ann runs a Christmas program for lico (low income cut off) families who need some help during the holidays. If you need help call 403-410-1158  ~ if you or your organization is interested in volunteering, donating, or ‘adopting’ a family for Christmas call Jeff at 403-220-0432 ext. 224

2. Lenscrafters is offering free eye exams and glasses for folks who need ‘em. November 7th 2010 at the Marlborough Mall Lenscrafters from 8-11 am

3. the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary is launching a new newsletter for youth called “ the buffalo eye” anyone 10 – 24 can submit. E-mail Lawrence for info lgervais@afccalgary.org -  Another Aboriginal youth magazine in Calgary – New Tribe has been in circulation for years, and continues to accept submissions from youth as well. 4. For those of you who haven’t heard, <eetup is a NYC based initiative that helps people connect with individuals and groups in their community with similar interests and values. Popular groups in Calgary include: community development, dating, reading, films, and outdoor activities. Check it out.

5. Looking for something to do? Maybe you need a space for your next event?
